The three-dimensional measurement of the spine is a computer-assisted, photo-optical, radiation-free method of measuring, which is used to measure the surface of the whole vertebral column in frontal and lateral view by the application of a balance.
This method is not only simple and precise, but it is definitely superior to the method of x-ray examination, especially in questions of rotational analysis with small degrees of curvature.
Indications for this new harmless examination method are curvatures of the spine (scoliosis\/kyphosis) with or without postural deformities (in the age of growing) or with or without limb length discrepancies (adults). An example is the Sacro-Cranial Syndrome with blockages in the front and back of the neck and/or in the iliosacral joint.
